In our previous newsletter, we touched on longevity and we wanted to continue that theme. Of all the cars that iSeeCars analyzed (395 million vehicles), they found the Toyota Sequoia had the best odds of any model hitting 250,000 miles, a 42.3% chance, roughly eight times the average vehicle's 5.4% odds.
Specifically, Toyota/Lexus dominated the findings, taking the top 9 spots and 15 of 27 total. The Lexus LS and Toyota 4Runner both top 30%, and the Tundra/Tacoma trucks are 5x more likely than average to hit the mark.
Three hybrids cracked the top 10, led by the Lexus RX Hybrid (4th) and Toyota Highlander Hybrid (9th, 20.7% odds). Honda's Accord Hybrid is the first non-Toyota vehicle on the list, at 10th.
Honda/Acura grabbed 10 spots overall. Only two other brands make the list at all: Mercedes-Benz (G-Class, 14th) and Chevrolet (Suburban, 24th, 11.6%).
Heavy-duty trucks averaged 11.1% odds, with the Ram 3500 leading at 31.9%. Has anyone seen how expensive diesel gas has become? Something to consider when you’re exploring heavy-duty trucks.
I know I’ve always been enamored with Toyota Land Cruisers, but shake my head when I see some of the asking prices for examples that are at 200K miles or more. Credit to the sellers I guess. They know longevity is gold these days.
Thanks for reading everybody!
