Toyota has issued a safety recall for approximately 144,200 Lexus vehicles in the U.S. due to a potential failure in the backup camera system.

The Issue: Under certain conditions, the backup camera feed may go blank when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. This fails to meet federal safety standards and increases the risk of a crash.
Affected Models (Non-Hybrid versions):
2022-2025 Lexus NX
2023-2026 Lexus RX
2024-2026 Lexus TX
Next Steps for Owners
The Remedy: Lexus dealers will either update the backup camera software or replace the camera entirely at no cost to the owner.
Notification: Owners of affected vehicles will be notified by mail by mid-May 2026.
