A fresh wave of recalls is hitting a combined 492,126 vehicles across four automakers, covering issues from fire risk to loss of drive power.

Chrysler has the largest recall of the group - 239,131 Ram 1500 trucks (2025-2026 model years) are affected by a radio software defect that can cause the rearview camera image to not display when the vehicle is in reverse, raising crash risk. Fix: an over-the-air software update, or a dealer visit if preferred.

Ford has  two separate recalls: 10,001 vehicles across the 2026 Bronco, Bronco Sport, Explorer, Mustang, and Ranger lineup, due to engine piston dome issues that can cause loss of drive power. Dealers will inspect the pistons and may replace the engine long block at no charge - but the repair plan itself isn't expected until December. 148,663 Mustangs (2024-2026) recalled because wiring harness ground connections in the engine compartment can fracture, also leading to loss of drive power. The fix here isn't due until March.

Lucid is recalling 27,185 Air sedans (2022-2026) recalled after an exterior lighting circuit was found to overheat, increasing fire risk. Until vehicles get software version 2.10.0 or later, Lucid is telling owners to park outside and away from structures. As of the article, 20,719 owners had already applied the update remotely.

Mitsubishi is also recalling 67,146 Outlander and Outlander PHEV SUVs (2025-2026) recalled over a rearview camera display problem, requiring a dealership visit for a software fix.

These are fairly newer cars, but be sure to confirm there are no open recalls on any used car you are considering for a purchase.

Thanks for reading everybody!
